Beer Battered, Deep Fried Hamburger

If you’ve lived in DC for a while, but haven’t visited Tune Inn — you’re truly missing out. Here is the Washingtonian write up.

As for me, I’ve been a loyal patron since I moved here in 2007, when Matt Dabrowski suggested we go there for lunch one day. With all of the animal heads (and rears) on the wall, it reminded me of Humphrey’s. That’s pretty much how I refer to it, “The Humphrey’s of Capitol Hill.”

Anyway, check out the Food Network Special on Diners, Drive ins, and Dives.

Here are two recent shots I took when I visited with my SLU friends. We had Baltimore’s National Bohemian (Natty Bo) — brewed by the G. Heilemann Brewing Company in Wisconsin (SLU people, they make STAG.) For a late dinner, I gave up my traditional hamburger steak and had the beer battered deep fried hamburger with cheese. The picture is before the cheese was added. It was amazing.
