I received another email today about a purchase I made that makes me eligible for a class action lawsuit. As you may remember, I thought the one with Weber Grills was “bullshit.”
Here’s a redacted version of the email I received:
In looking at the claims, I think they’re a little bold — I mean, come on — “The lawsuit claims that the software updates caused iPod prices to be higher than they otherwise would have been.” Far fetched? Probably, but a lot more legitimate, than say — the Weber suit. The other claim is a little more serious: “The lawsuit claims that Apple violated federal and state laws by issuing software updates in 2006 for its iPod that prevented iPods from playing songs not purchased on iTunes.”
I haven’t decided if I will opt out yet. I am not a fan of Apple for their horrible customer service and shoddy computers. Likewise, I generally dislike class-action lawsuits. The question is which do I hate less, and is staying in one worth the probably $5-20 I would get?
