A. Litteri, Inc. Deli

Yesterday for lunch, Larry, Woody and I went up to Northeast to go visit a deli Larry reccommends.

Bottom line, it was awesome.

A. Litteri, Inc.

517-519 Morse Street, N.E.

Washington, D.C. 20002

Tuesday and Wednesday, 8 AM – 4 PM
Thursday and Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM
Saturday, 8 AM – 3 PM
Closed Sunday and Monday

It might not show up in google maps, so the easiest way is by taking taking 6th Street north from H Street, NE into this warehouse market area. Parking is fairly ample during the week, but not on weekends.

When you enter, you’re likely to think you’ve entered a place owned by a pack rat, but Litteri makes every inch count. Tons of wine, an amazing selection of olive oil, pasta sauce, pizza sauce and pasta — Litteri also has freezers full of freshly made pasta and other Italian fixings.

But we came to experience their awesome deli.

First, you fill out a sheet and pick what you want on your sub.

Once you submit your slip, you can mill around and shop. I had a hard time not buying a ton of things.

The Deli

Larry’s sub — big sub.

My sub. I couldn’t eat all of it at once. Lunch for two days.

Olive oil.

Pasta and sauce.

I highly recommend you check out Litteri. Beats subway any day of the week.
